Incidence and Factors Related to Endodontic Flare Up - A 1-year Retrospective Study

Background: Endodontic flare up is a common complication of endodontic treatment that results from acute exacerbation pulpal and peri-radicular pathosis; leading to unscheduled emergency visits disturbing for both clinicians patients. Flare causes are multifactorial includes microbial, host, chemical mechanical factors. Objective: The aim this retrospective study was evaluate the incidence identify risk factors in multispecialty dental maxillofacial center over period one year February 2019 2020. Methods: Data collected 323 teeth belonging 272 patients completed their root canal on multiple sessions during evaluation period. samples were classified based inclusion criteria variables according type; age; sex; periapical presence intracanal medication between visits; absence coronal seal. Results: 122(38%), evaluated did not show statistical significance any parameters. Conclusion: widely diverse may be due variety reasons; therefore, management each facility different varies setup; number specialists available. Continuous training skills improvement clinician charge managing with highly recommended.
